Otto 1

Otto 1 is our compact two-bedroom design for slow weekends, long lunches and quiet nights by the fire.

Designed to sleep four comfortably, it works beautifully as a weekender, guest retreat, small permanent home or rural escape. The plan brings the kitchen, dining and lounge into one connected living space, opening the everyday rituals of cooking, eating and relaxing toward the landscape.

Every square metre has been considered. The Otto 1 includes two bedrooms, a generous open living zone, a compact European laundry, dish drawer, built-in storage, bench seating, a hobless shower and a fireplace for cooler evenings. It is small in footprint but generous in how it lives.

The design celebrates simplicity and honest structure, using robust, low-maintenance materials suited to Australian conditions. Deep roof overhangs help shade the home in summer, while the living areas are best oriented north to welcome winter sun and make the most of passive design principles.
